Raystown Lake

We just returned from two weeks at Raystown Lake. It's about 2 1/2 hours from home. We have a travel trailer that we stay in at a campground right on the lake. The views from our trailer are amazing. The weather was wonderful- about 11 straight days of clear blue sky. The kids would jump up in the morning, run out the door and I wouldn't see them again until they were hungry. We have never stayed in our trailer for that long before and I was a little nervous out cabin fever setting in but we really were fine. Now the two rainy days we had almost did me in, so thank goodness for the sun!

We bought Lucy, the dog, a little life vest so that we could take her on the boat with us. Twice we put her in the water. She hated it. She would swim around the boat trying to find a way to get in, then she would look for anyone who would help her. She would climb up on someone's back or on a raft to get up out of the water. That's my mom helping her out in the pic.
The boys were very adventurous this year. Last year Ethan was too afraid to ride on the tube behind the boat or to jump off the high rocks. Tyler has always been a little daredevil. I don't know what got into Ethan but he was up for anything! He must have jumped off those rocks 50 times.

He also go a little too brave riding his bike and scooter down the hills in the campground and had a few accidents. Tyler used his share of band-aids too. Tyler's favorite part of the trip was a tube ride with mom. My dad (who was driving the boat) tried to kill me! (Picture to come)

We camp with another family who has kids the same ages as ours. The kids look forward to this trip with them each year. They all get along so well. Presley and Willow are dancing on the table to Hannah Montana!

Sydney was quite a handful. She thought she was a big girl and could just go and play like the other kids. Every time I would turn my back on her, she was missing. I would find her walking down the road or over at Mimi's trailer. One night we were watching a movie outside at my mom's trailer and someone said, "Is that Sydney?" She was walking down the road in pitch black all by herself going back to our trailer. When I ran to get her and asked her where she was going she said, "Done. Home." She was done watching the movie and was taking herself home. She is a bit independent. On another day, I looked out the trailer window and saw her walking down the street carrying Mike's fishing net, which is about twice as tall as she is. It's hard to get upset with such a cute little face!

Here she is feeding her little bag of dog food to the carp at the marina - A Sunday afternoon tradition.

It was a great trip! We are already talking about next year and maybe someday we'll have our own boat to play and fish in.
